BEFORE INSTALLING
[ ] Check the current App Store publisher and OS requirement.
[ ] Check whether an existing subscription already covers the phone.
[ ] Save the total invoice, renewal term and applicable refund rules.

FIRST CONNECTION
[ ] Install the official app and sign into the intended account.
[ ] Approve its VPN configuration prompt.
[ ] Connect to a recommended or nearby exit.
[ ] Compare a fresh browser IP request before/after connecting.
[ ] Try ordinary mail, banking, websites, a call and local devices.

RECONNECTION
[ ] Observe a Wi-Fi/cellular transition on networks you control.
[ ] Check sleep/wake and make a fresh request after waking.
[ ] Test the documented manual-disconnect behavior using harmless traffic.
[ ] Reconnect and restore the settings you intend to keep.

INTERPRETATION
A browser IP check observes that request, not all background traffic.
A VPN IP after reconnecting does not prove there was no transition leak.
No page loading while the network is off proves only loss of connectivity.
Apple documents essential system-service traffic outside an active VPN.
Do not claim a full leak audit from this checklist. Keep IPs and logs private.

BILLING
[ ] Confirm who handles cancellation and refunds.
[ ] Set a reminder before any evaluation/renewal deadline.
Deleting an app does not cancel a subscription.
