Hostinger pricing: the first bill, renewal and the right tier

Choose the requirement before the discount

There are two separate decisions in Hostinger’s offer: which hosting tier meets the project’s needs, and how much time you are willing to prepay. A cheap rate does not answer either question on its own. For a brochure site you rarely change, the entry tier may cover the basics. For a site with frequent new content, the difference between weekly and daily recovery can matter more than a small difference in the headline price.

Our captured USD web-hosting offer names Premium, Unlimited and Cloud Startup. Promotions and product names can differ by storefront. Match the name, storage, backup frequency and total shown in your own order summary, rather than relying on an old screenshot of a similarly named plan.

A website slot is not dedicated compute capacity. Ten low-traffic sites and ten busy shops can have very different demands. Check application requirements, storage growth and any resource policy separately from the number of sites permitted.

The observed USD offer and what is prepaid

Premium’s first payment is $143.52 for 48 service months. Unlimited costs $191.52 for that same period, so the initial upgrade adds $48. That is a useful comparison because the terms match. If daily provider backups solve a real recovery requirement, compare that $48 against the cost and maintenance of a separate arrangement.

Do not call $143.52 a one-year invoice just because your project budget uses a one-year horizon. The first bill remains four years of hosting. Cancellation, refunds and unused time are separate contractual questions; this calculation does not assume you can reclaim the unused portion.

A 12-month project can still require a 48-month payment

For a one-year project, Premium allocates $35.88 of the prepaid hosting to the months used. The cash requirement is still $143.52. This is why an apparently low annual running cost can be a poor fit for an experiment that may finish after a few months.

For a website you already intend to operate for several years, the same prepayment can be acceptable. The deciding factor is the project’s continuity and your willingness to remain with the provider, not an assumption that buying more years is always a saving. What we know about renewal, and what remains open

The captured Premium card lists a renewal equivalent of $10.99 per month. That annualizes to $131.88, but the captured evidence does not establish the duration of the next invoice. We therefore do not label $131.88 as a verified annual renewal bill.

The hosting calculator can use a documented monthly equivalent for an allocated estimate beyond the initial term. A cash total needs the actual renewal billing period, so it stays unverified where that period is missing. This distinction is preferable to quietly assuming that a four-year purchase renews annually, or that the introductory rate repeats.

Before a renewal decision, record the amount, service dates, automatic-charge date and cancellation procedure visible in the account. Compare the cost of staying with the operational cost of migrating. Moving a website can involve DNS, databases, mailboxes, testing and overlapping subscriptions; a lower advertised hosting rate is only one part of that decision.

Price the services that do not last for all four years

The initial email allowance and eligible domain offer in the captured plan last one year. A four-year hosting payment does not establish four years of free email or domain registration. Put these services on separate lines in the budget and confirm their subsequent prices.

• Domain: check the extension, eligibility, renewal and ownership details.
• Email: count the mailboxes and storage actually needed after the first year.
• Backups: establish frequency, retention, restore procedure and an independent copy.
• Add-ons: record whether each is a one-time purchase, recurring service or optional trial.
• Tax: use the final treatment for your billing location; do not apply a second tax estimate to an inclusive quote.

In the calculator, an annual extra starting in month 13 models a service included for the first year and then billed. Use your own verified amount; we have not invented a future email or domain fee.

A practical prepayment check

Keep a copy of the order summary showing the tier, first payment, term, renewal information and optional selections. Check the right to refund the hosting separately from the treatment of domain registration and other products. A general money-back badge should not be applied to every line item.

For an existing website, confirm the migration scope before ending the old service. A supported website migration is not necessarily a complete mailbox transfer or a reconstruction of a proprietary builder. Use our migration checklist to plan the overlap and rollback.
