Hostinger vs InterServer: prepayment, flexibility and recovery

First, define the website both plans must run

This comparison concerns ordinary shared-hosting workloads: a company website, a small content site or a set of modest projects. It does not compare Hostinger cloud resources with InterServer VPS resources, nor does it assume that either shared plan can run an arbitrary application.

For a new site, record the required application, website count, storage, email needs and recovery frequency. For an existing site, add migration constraints: control panel, database versions, mailboxes and the ability to restore the old setup. These details determine whether a price comparison is actually between suitable candidates.

The panel difference matters. Older descriptions of InterServer may mention cPanel, but the current cited Standard specification uses DirectAdmin. Do not plan a migration around an outdated interface assumption.

Separate the annual cost from the contract length

InterServer’s observed introductory month costs $2.50 and the following regular months cost $7. Over a full first year, that monthly route totals $79.50. Its introductory annual route costs $30. Monthly billing is therefore a purchase of flexibility, not automatically the cheapest way to operate the same site for a year.

Hostinger requires $143.52 upfront for 48 months. Its allocated annual cost can look low while the actual first cash payment exceeds either InterServer starting option. Choose a cost definition that matches the decision, and keep the unused months visible.

A weekly backup is a shared limitation to address

Both entry comparisons list weekly provider backups. If the site changes every day, a week can contain meaningful work that must be reconstructed after a failure. Decide the acceptable data-loss window before using the entry tier as your final budget.

Hostinger’s higher listed tier adds daily backups. That gives a concrete reason to compare the upgraded offer, but it changes the price comparison. InterServer’s included weekly copies also need their retention and restoration scope confirmed. In either case, keep an independent backup accessible outside the hosting account.

A recovery procedure should name a responsible person, where the copy is stored and how files and databases return together. A test restoration is more informative than simply seeing a backup label in a dashboard. Our migration checklist also helps preserve a rollback option while moving.

How the choice changes for three projects

For three small sites, Premium’s recorded site allowance can fit exactly. There is no spare slot for another production site under that same allowance. Standard’s unlimited-site wording avoids that specific count constraint, but storage, resource policies and operational capacity still need review.

For more than three sites, compare Hostinger Unlimited rather than continuing to quote Premium as the eligible choice. For a mixture of low-traffic static sites and database-heavy applications, estimate the combined workload rather than assuming that ten domains consume ten equal portions of the server.

Keeping several projects together can simplify billing and administration. It can also make a single access problem, security incident or migration affect the whole group. Where client separation or independent recovery matters, ask whether the shared-account structure meets that requirement.

Which reader should begin with each provider?

Begin with Hostinger if you want its integrated setup, are comfortable learning hPanel and expect to keep the site operating through a long prepaid period. The Hostinger pricing guide helps choose between the lower price and higher-tier recovery features.

Begin with InterServer if commitment flexibility is a hard requirement or if its conventional Standard account fits your existing workflow. Confirm the current panel, migration scope and regular monthly price before moving. The InterServer review discusses the resource and backup limitations.

If the project may close in a few months, do not allow an attractive multiyear monthly equivalent to dominate the decision. If the site is established and migration would be costly, compare the ongoing operational fit as well as the first bill. Neither conclusion requires a fabricated speed winner.
