Three commitments, with different conditions
Our captured direct-purchase offer shows one month, six months and two years plus two extra months. The figures are in EUR, reflecting the storefront observed during research. They are not USD conversions or a promise that a US billing address receives the same promotion.

A monthly subscription answers a different need from a multiyear purchase. It can be useful for a short period or an evaluation where paying more upfront is undesirable. The long offer can reduce the modeled cost of ongoing use, but only if the service remains suitable for the full commitment.
Check CyberGhost subscription terms (affiliate link, opens in a new tab)Why the renewal monthly equivalent changes
The recorded long offer charges €56.94 for the first 26 months. The subsequent stated payment is also €56.94, but it covers 12 months. The first-term rate is therefore about €2.19 per month, while the annual renewal is about €4.75 per month.
That is not a contradiction: the same payment buys different durations. It becomes misleading only if the introductory monthly equivalent is carried forward into a future budget without changing the service period.
| Offer | 12 months: allocated / cash | 24 months: allocated / cash | 36 months: allocated / cash |
|---|---|---|---|
| CyberGhost VPN 1 month EUR · 1-month first term | €143.88 / €143.88 | €287.76 / €287.76 | €431.64 / €431.64 |
| CyberGhost VPN 6 months EUR · 6-month first term | €83.88 / €83.88 | €167.76 / €167.76 | €251.64 / €251.64 |
| CyberGhost VPN 2 years + 2 months EUR · 26-month first term | €26.28 / €56.94 14 service months remain after the horizon | €52.56 / €56.94 2 service months remain after the horizon | €104.39 / €113.88 2 service months remain after the horizon |
Original calculations by HostingRanker, using the dated source observations in the table. A lower bar does not establish the best product or comparable features.
To cover a 36-month horizon, the long offer needs its initial payment plus a complete annual renewal. That is €113.88 cash and €104.39 allocated to the months used. The renewal leaves two service months beyond the horizon. Our VPN cost calculator makes that difference visible.
A refund window belongs to the specific subscription
The checked offer states a 14-day refund window for monthly billing and a 45-day window for the six-month and longer subscriptions, subject to the provider’s conditions. Do not apply the largest advertised number to every purchase route.
This affects an evaluation plan. Before buying, know what you need to check: installation, the required platform functions, ordinary connectivity and recovery from disconnections. Choose a term because its complete conditions fit the decision, not because the headline guarantee seems generous.
| Term in the captured direct offer | Recorded window | Practical implication |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | 14 days | Do not postpone the initial evaluation assuming a 45-day window. |
| Six months | 45 days | Confirm the applicable conditions and refund procedure. |
| Two years plus two months | 45 days | The longer window does not eliminate the larger commitment after it closes. |
Turning off automatic renewal and asking for a refund are separate matters. Record confirmation of any account change. Store purchases and other intermediaries can have different procedures, so verify the rules for the route actually used rather than relying on a general comparison article.
The six-month option is not just a smaller version of the long deal
The observed six-month bill is €41.94. The long introductory bill is €56.94, a €15 increase that buys substantially more first-term time. For a person already certain about long-term use, that difference may favor the longer option.
For someone uncertain about the client or likely to need the service only temporarily, the relevant choice may still be monthly billing. Spending more to receive unused months is not automatically good value. Consider the likelihood of continued use and the ease of leaving as well as the cost per month.
A useful personal rule is to separate evaluation from commitment. First define what success looks like on the required devices. Then select a term with conditions that allow a meaningful decision. After evaluation, keep the ongoing subscription only while it meets the need.
The cost chart compares known billing amounts; it does not estimate the value of unused time, a future switch or an unsuccessful refund request.
Check seven concurrent connections against the household
CyberGhost’s documented allowance is seven simultaneous connections. Installing the app on a device is not the same as using a connection continuously, so first inventory which devices need protection at the same time.
Compare the multiple-device shortlist if a household regularly exceeds seven. A lower introductory price does not help if the subscription cannot support the intended concurrent use. Private Internet Access review may be relevant where its published unlimited allowance solves that requirement, subject to compatibility and account terms.
Platform-specific functions deserve a second check. CyberGhost documents Android App Split Tunnel, but a feature on Android does not establish the same control on Windows, iOS or a router. Our compatibility matrix separates verified functionality from information we could not establish.
Task-oriented server labels are also not independent proof that a streaming service works on your account. We have not run those tests. Choose based on documented compatibility and your own evaluation, without treating a label as a guarantee.
A complete budget includes extras and the next decision date
Dedicated IP and other optional products are outside the base subscription calculations here. Check the final order for recurring additions, tax and any service with a different billing period. Keep all amounts in the same currency.
Record when the initial service period ends and how to cancel the next renewal. The calculator holds the captured rate constant as a scenario, but the provider’s future price and applicable terms can change. A dated offer comparison should support the decision rather than replace the current order summary.
Use NordVPN versus CyberGhost to compare another device allowance and subscription structure. Use CyberGhost versus PIA if household flexibility matters more than the interface approach. The CyberGhost VPN review contains the broader suitability analysis and limits of our evidence.
We allocate the first payment across all months it covers, including any bonus months. Cash includes whole billing periods needed to reach the chosen horizon. Renewal rates are held constant for this illustration; they are not guaranteed future quotes. Unknown bills remain unverified. Domains, optional services and taxes are excluded unless explicitly added. Read the calculation method.
Frequently asked questions
Does CyberGhost’s long-term introductory rate continue at renewal?
Not in the captured offer. The same €56.94 payment covers 26 months initially and 12 months at the stated renewal.
Does every CyberGhost plan have a 45-day refund window?
No. The checked direct monthly offer has a 14-day window; six-month and longer terms show 45 days, subject to conditions.
Does seven connections mean seven installations?
The comparison concerns simultaneous connections. Check the current account and device-management rules separately from installation count.
