NordVPN pricing: compare the term before the discount

The public offer available to our research session was denominated in EUR. It is preserved here as a European storefront observation, not converted into USD or presented as a guaranteed American checkout price. US readers should match the structure of the comparison with the actual offer and currency presented to them.

The observed long-term choices are Basic, Complete and Ultra. Basic is the VPN-focused comparison. The larger bundles include additional protection, password-management, storage or data-removal services as described in the offer. Their availability and useful scope can depend on platform and country.

Start by listing services you already pay for and those you would actually use. A bundled service has little replacement value if nobody plans to configure it, if it duplicates an existing subscription or if it does not support your location.

Monthly, annual or the long introduction?

A person needing one month of use buys flexibility with monthly billing. A household already planning several years of use may accept a larger first payment. The purpose of comparing terms is to see that trade-off explicitly, rather than treating the longest advertised discount as a universal recommendation.

The long Basic observation costs €94.23 and covers 27 service months, including three extra months. At the observed annual renewal it next charges €139.08 for 12 months. The extra months belong to the first term; adding them to each subsequent renewal would understate the ongoing cost.

A three-year budget includes an entire renewal bill

For Basic, the cash required to cover 36 months is €233.31. The service allocated to those 36 months costs €198.54. Both figures are useful: cash includes the full 12-month renewal that extends coverage to month 39, while the allocated total counts only nine of those renewal months.

NordVPN’s terms also distinguish service renewal from the time a payment is collected. An annual renewal may be charged in advance of the next period. Record the notification and cancellation deadlines in your own account; our tool models how much service the payments cover, not the exact day a bank charge appears.

Put a separate value on the bundle upgrade

In the long introductory offer, Complete adds €27 to Basic’s initial payment. Its published annual renewal adds €80.40 relative to Basic. An upgrade that looks modest during the promotion therefore creates a different continuing cost.

One useful decision method is to price only the services you would otherwise buy. If a storage product replaces an existing paid account and has sufficient capacity and an acceptable export path, that replacement can be meaningful. If it simply adds another place to manage files, it may add work rather than savings.

Keep dedicated IP separate from this comparison: the larger security bundle should not be assumed to include it. Verify optional items in the final order rather than inferring them from the tier name.

The subscription must fit the actual devices

The documented allowance of ten simultaneous connections is relevant to a household, but it does not mean every app exposes identical settings. Check the VPN compatibility matrix for the operating systems and functions you need.

Split tunneling illustrates the difference. Selecting applications on one platform is not necessarily the same operation as configuring IP or port exceptions on another. If a work application must bypass the VPN, confirm the supported mechanism before committing to a long term.

Record the complete subscription, including the exit

Keep the currency, first total, service months, renewal amount and interval, selected extras and applicable tax treatment together. Check refund conditions for the purchase route you use; a general guarantee should not be extended to every third-party seller or product without reading the terms.

Cancellation of automatic renewal and requesting a refund are separate actions. Canceling the next renewal generally addresses the future subscription, while a refund request depends on the applicable window and conditions. Use the provider’s current instructions and retain its confirmation.
